Popular tourist destinations do not always meet expectations and can turn a vacation into a nightmare. Travelers shared their own experiences and named four countries they have no intention of returning to.

Bulgaria
A bad hotel can significantly spoil the impression of an entire trip. This is exactly the situation a reader with the nickname “Traveled a lot” encountered.
“I absolutely do not recommend Bulgaria to anyone. At the hotel, they offered us a room where the window was missing glass. The employee simply pulled the curtains and just shrugged. We had a two-year-old child with us. Only after persistent demands did they give us another room where the windows were intact. The food was of extremely poor quality. The hotel staff behaved rudely and unprofessionally. It was the worst vacation of our lives. The dining area was open to the sky, with chickens walking between the tables and pecking at people’s bare feet,” said the traveler.
Egypt
Many negative reviews also concerned holidays in Egypt. In particular, a reader under the nickname Juossi complained about constant attempts to make tourists spend more money, persistent sellers, and unpleasant situations during the vacation.
“In Sharm El Sheikh, they tried to squeeze money out of us at every step. We bought a snorkeling excursion, but it turned out on the boat that the mask and snorkel were not included in the price. Tips were also mandatory. Street vendors were extremely pushy. Taxi drivers ‘kindly’ opened car doors, but only to touch women in the process. One time, we caught a hotel employee rummaging through our suitcases right in the room. I have nothing good to say about this trip,” said Juossi.
Another tourist, who identified themselves as “No, thank you, Egypt,” specifically mentioned problems with fraud in Cairo.
“There are wonderful sights in Cairo, but too many people are involved in fraud. They constantly try to deceive you,” the traveler expressed.
Another traveler, Ykspena, pointed out the heat, dirt, and pushy behavior of vendors in tourist areas.
“It’s dirty and very hot. Tourist spots are crowded with pushy vendors. They demand tips even when no service has been provided. Ordinary locals are friendly and hospitable, but it’s not easy for tourists to get to know them,” Ykspena shared her experience.
France
France also did not meet the expectations of some tourists. For example, a user with the nickname “Daughter of Spring” shared her impressions of Paris.
“Paris turned out to be dirty and overcrowded with tourists. Service workers behaved uninvitingly, even though I speak French,” she noted.
A similar opinion was shared by a reader under the nickname Vanha Reissaaja, who had visited 18 European countries.
“I drove through 18 European countries by car. The only country that, in my opinion, did not suit us at all is France. People there are completely unfriendly. I have only pleasant memories even of Romania,” the traveler noted.
Dominican Republic
Another tourist was extremely dissatisfied with a trip to the Dominican Republic. According to him, he encountered corruption, high prices for services, and theft of money at the hotel.
“I will never go to the Dominican Republic again because the country is very corrupt. They try to extract the maximum money from tourists, and tour guide services are extremely expensive. It was the first and only hotel where my money disappeared while I was by the pool. A taxi driver asked me to bring him bananas from the hotel breakfast, and it was impossible to calmly explore anything on my own in the city,” said a reader under the nickname Mn.
By the way, a traveler who had visited all countries of the world called the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu, the most dangerous place due to the lack of laws, the terrorist threat from the “Al-Shabaab” group, and the need to travel under armed guard. The UK Foreign Office confirms the high level of risk in Somalia due to constant attacks, kidnappings, armed crime, and the humanitarian crisis, advising citizens to refrain from traveling.
