Ukrainian heat to peak this week: temperatures in the south and east will rise to +37 °C. A prolonged period of hot days leads to warm nights, and building surfaces and road pavements not cooling down sufficiently.
Currently, Ukraine, along with most European countries, is experiencing another heatwave: air temperatures in some regions are exceeding +35 °C. Under such conditions, not only well-being changes, but also the needs of the skin and the body as a whole. High temperatures can trigger dehydration, swelling, increased skin sensitivity, and fatigue, making it especially important now to adapt your beauty rituals and daily habits to summer conditions. Here are a few tips to help you get through the heat more comfortably.

1. Stay cool
This advice might sound ironic, as there are situations where avoiding the heat is impossible – for instance, on the way to work or at night. However, even small steps can make a significant difference. So, whenever possible, seek coolness: if not the sea, like Hailey Bieber, then choose the shady side of the street or a spot away from the window. If you have the opportunity to be outside the city, take advantage of it: the earth and greenery help endure the heat more comfortably than a city with its concrete, glass, and asphalt. If your location is an urban apartment, create a shutter effect, like in the Mediterranean – keep curtains closed during the day. This will let less sun into the room, keeping the temperature inside lower.
2. Rely on the power of water
Whenever possible, stand under cool water streams, go to a pool or natural bodies of water, and wet your nape and arms up to your elbows – the latter is possible even with a strict office dress code.

3. Tie up your hair
Long hair warms like a cashmere scarf. Tie it up in a ponytail or bun, allowing your neck to breathe.

4. Drink water
Keep water with you and drink it regularly, as dehydration is the main enemy in the heat. As for the water temperature, rely on your own habits. Those who tend to catch a cold after a glass of ice-cold drink should opt for room temperature water.
5. Lighten your diet
Enrich your menu with fiber, which is easily digestible and does not overload the body. The season encourages the consumption of berries, fruits, and vegetables. Salads require minimal preparation time but offer all the benefits of healthy food. In hot weather, it’s best to avoid heavy meat dishes, fatty foods, and dehydrating alcohol.
By the way, chilled cherries work just as well as ice cream, and lightly salted cucumbers help prevent dehydration.
6. Refresh the air
For daytime use, you can place a personal humidifier on your desk. It emits a cool mist that pleasantly refreshes the surrounding space and creates a sense of coolness.

7. Remember the fan
This old-fashioned accessory is a frequent companion of fashion show attendees, which often take place in stuffy venues.

Fashion insiders know life; they are worth following.

8. Care for those around you
This may sound obvious, but it’s important to help those around you. The heat is hardest on the most vulnerable: children, the elderly, animals, and plants. Leave water for stray cats and dogs, water the flowerbeds near your home, and bring water to elderly neighbors.
9. Prepare for the night
When air conditioners don’t work due to power outages, or when conscience doesn’t allow you to use them during electricity shortages, simple tricks can help: sleep without clothes, fill containers with water and place them in the bedroom, or hang damp sheets or towels near the headboard.
Plants work well: place all your houseplants in the bedroom to create a fresher air feel.
On bedside tables, you can place aesthetic containers with pre-chilled cold packs filled with water. They will release coolness into the air for a period of time.
Finally, you can purchase technological pillows and blankets with a cooling effect. For example, here.
10. Use fans
“Old-school” appliances are actually used all over the world – from South Africa to California. Often, fans are placed on the ceiling, on chandeliers. This might not be the best design solution, but there are times when you can tolerate it for the effect.

11. Optimize physical activity
Few people would think of signing up for hot yoga, but even jogging is best postponed to very early hours when the sun is not yet so active. Sunscreen is necessary even at 6 AM.
12. Use cooling cosmetics
These products usually contain menthol, which creates a feeling of a cool breeze on the skin.
If you are not allergic to the cold, keep your lotions, serums, creams, masks, and patches in the refrigerator – they will be more pleasant to use in the heat.

13. Discover cryo-globes
Facial massage spheres should be kept in the freezer to then enjoy their cooling effect during facial massage.

14. Choose the right clothing
Silk and linen can unexpectedly become enemies when the heat reaches its peak. These natural fabrics can be too dense and retain heat. Viscose is perhaps the best defense against the heat.
To protect yourself from the heat, opt for loose-fitting clothing with long sleeves – it shields the skin from overheating.

15. Change your perfume wardrobe
For a while, put aside complex gourmand and oud compositions. Even if you tolerate them well, most people find it difficult to coexist with a loud olfactory wave nearby. In sensitive individuals, strong sillage fragrances can provoke migraines and vascular spasms during hot weather.
