Passing through the summer heat is aided not only by air conditioning. Today, there are numerous beauty products and accessories that cool the skin, reduce puffiness, and restore a sense of comfort — from classic fans to cryo-balls, cooling gels, and high-tech lingerie. Here’s vogue.ua’s guide: what to do throughout the day to feel better, and which products really work against the heat.

Start the day with a cool shower
A cool shower helps refresh you after sleep. However, avoid standing under icy streams: a sharp temperature change will only cause blood vessels to dilate again.
Look for menthol, peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, and aloe vera in your shower products.

Refresh your hair
Loose hair acts like a warm scarf. Therefore, it’s better to wear it up: silk hair ties can help.

In hot weather, scalp oiliness is felt more strongly, so look for menthol, mint, and caffeine in shampoos – they wonderfully tone the scalp and create a feeling of a light breeze.

Amino Mint Shampoo, Redken
Hair mists work wonderfully – in hot weather, they can be used instead of perfumes (the latter can overload the nervous system and be stuffy).

Dry shampoo can be applied at night to absorb sebum and help prolong the feeling of hair freshness.

Keep some skincare in the refrigerator
Cold itself works no worse than expensive formulas, so it’s worth cooling down what you use daily. You can put the following in the refrigerator:
• Eye cream;

• Hydrogel eye patches;

• Sheet masks;

• Facial mists;

• Thermal water;

• Serum

• Roller, massager, or gua sha;

• Cryo-spheres

Use body care with a cooling effect
One of the most underestimated categories of summer care is products that provide a noticeable cooling effect and help the body tolerate heat better. Most often, such products contain active ingredients with a pronounced “cool effect”:
• Menthol;
• Camphor;
• Horse chestnut extract;
• Arnica;
• Eucalyptus.

They work best when applied to areas where tension and heat quickly accumulate – on the calves; ankles, feet, and the back of the neck.

Refresh yourself throughout the day
Whenever possible, take a shower and immerse yourself in pools or bodies of water. If this isn’t an option, always carry with you:
• Facial mist or thermal water in a spray;
• A portable fan;
• A fan.
Legs react strongly to heat: they swell, get tired, etc. You can find a comprehensive guide to combating leg swelling here.
Use cooling textiles
Clothing, blankets, and sheets made from cooling textiles are a less obvious but very popular category in Asia, where summers are particularly hot, humid, and stuffy.

There is cooling lingerie, tops with cooling technology, cooling neck bands; pillowcases and sleep masks made from “cold” fabrics.

Wear “cool” accessories
Gel neck wraps, cooling neck rings; reusable cold compresses, and portable neck fans are very effective.
